I haven't been keeping up my page - sorry. I've been incredibly busy. We are working up for our UDP (Unit Deployment Program) to Okinawa. We will be leaving early August. I hope to have some pictures posted soon.... I'll be visiting my daughter in North Carolina in July.

Half way through deployment now. It has been an adventure thus far. I am currently the Acting Senior Medical Department Representative as the bulk of the battalion is forward deployed. I have been left with 17 corpsman to prepare for our Logistics Readiness Evaluation (LRE) in January 2000. I've been enjoying liberty here in Okinawa (as much as possible), most spent diving. I've set a personal goal - I'd like to have my PADI Master Scuba Diver before leaving. Despite uncooperative weather (Super Typhoon Bart) and sea conditions, I have almost 50 dives on the Island since arrival. I'm also submitting a package for Deep Sea Dive Medical Technician school. I'm tired of being with the Marines and am yearning for some good ole Navy operational time. I have to go to Kadena AFB early tomorrow morning for my pressure test.

Once again I'm guilty of not keeping my page up to date. After getting shot (in the head of all places) and spending lots of time in various hospitals, I am now at Naval Hospital Great Lakes, IL awaiting surgery. I don't know how long I'm to be here, but I have to say I'm glad I'm only here temporarily. Its a weather thing:)

Thanksgiving was a blast. I spent it with my family. Funny, I spent 12 years avoiding home, just to come back and find out its really not that bad.

Well, temporarily has turned out to be not so temporary. Really enjoying the cold weather (not). To compound things, my ex-girlfriend is now stationed here. We dated for three years, and we did not separate on the best of terms. Does any relationship really end happily? Of all the commands in the Navy, she and I had to end up at the same one. Imminent justice - apparently I'm finally being punished for something I did really wrong at some time in my life:)

Happy New Year!!!

I apologize for not keeping up my page, but I've been having some software problems. Well, what news do I have? I've been in an IRS VITA (Volunteer Income Tax) class for the last two weeks. Today was our last day. I learned alot - perhaps I'll be getting a refund this year. Now I have about 10 weeks of preparing tax returns for hospital staff to look forward to. I'm starting yet another semester of college this week. Statistics, Japanese II, and Speech. I'm doing my degree requirements backwards: First I took the specialized courses, and now I'm taking all the gen ed requirements

Happy Easter!!!

Once again, I apologize for not upkeeping the page. I've suffered continual problems with the web publishing software I was using. So much has happened, yet very little really stands out in my mind. I'm still plugging my way trhough statistics (for some reason this course just seems to be beyond my grasp), Japanese, and speech. I met a great woman, Kelly, who is destined to become my best friend. I think she may be too perfect to date - does that make sense? Well, the tax season is drawing to a close. I spent Friday preparing taxes - a task I usually enjoy, the exception being when I must tell someone that they owe. I spent Easter at my family's house in St Louis, a very pleasant and much too-short break from North Chicago/Great Lakes.

Happy Mother's Day!!!
Another semester finished! I didn't think I was going to make it for awhile there. I didn't manage to maintain my 4.0 GPA though. Not all the grades are in yet, but I didn't do stellar in Japanese (I don't know my grade yet though) and I recieved a "B" in statistics. I think I did well in speech though. Now I have some time to myself...finally.
12JUN01
I'm not too delinquent in updating me page this time! Anyways, I had the first of two surgeries on 07JUN01. I was discharged on 08JUN01 and am now on convalescent leave until 30JUN01. I'm pretty happy because I got to keep most of my hair this time. I'm looking forward to the next, and last, surgery - hopefully within 3-6 months.

Happy New Year!!!
Well...six months since my last update. Terrible! First of all, I want to wish everyone a very happy New Year. I spent the holidays with family and had a wonderful time. Before that, on December 11th, I underwent my second, and hopefully last, surgery. With the exception of a few scars, I'm as good as new (some might actually say I'm better now than before the accident). Last Monday was my first day back to work since the surgery. Wow, just being at work for eight hours is sooo tiring! I'm still plugging away at college - since my last update I completed psychology of adolescence, psychology of personality, composition and literature 102, and history of life (a comparison of evolution and creationism). This semester I'm taking physiological psychology, abnormal psychology, psychological foundations of learning, and theory of counseling and psychotherapy. I'm looking forward to moving to San Diego in the very near future and entering graduate school in the fall.

Ahhhh....back in beautiful California! I haven't reported to my new command yet - still enjoying my time off and the beautiful weather.
